Robert L. Talton, Sr., 88, of Columbia, died on Thursday, December 5, 2024. Born August 8, 1936, in Winnsboro, SC, he was a son of the late Roy and Annie Keisler Talton.

Mr. Talton was a US Air Force veteran and for the last 25 years worked side by side with his son at Richland Wrecking Company. He was a dedicated member of Crossroads World Outreach Center in West Columbia for over 40 years. Mr. Talton had a big heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends and members of the community. His greatest accomplishment in life was his family, and he enjoyed seeing them prosper in their endeavors. Mr. Talton loved to attend his children and grandchildren's sporting events and was very proud that he never missed a single event. He was an avid sports fan who faithfully cheered on Gamecock athletics.

Survivors include his son Robert L. Talton, Jr. (Cherri) of Lexington; grandchildren, Erin Mick (Eric) and their children, Tyler and Caiden Mick, Katelen Knef (Dustin) and their children, Hendrix and Lennon Knef, Robert Caleb Talton (Paxton) and their son, Robert Heath Talton, Jay Dixon (Brandy) and their son, Jayce, Joshua Talton (Meghan) and their children, Knox and Kyler Talton, and Skylar Talton. He also leaves behind his brother, Clifford Talton (Caroline). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Augustus "Gussie" L. Knight Talton; daughter, Melody B. Dixon; sisters, Reba Weil, Becky Leeming, and Judy Moseley, as well as a great grandson, Konnor Talton.

The funeral service for Mr. Talton will be held at 1 o'clock Friday, December 13th at Crossroad World Outreach Center, 2606 Emanuel Church Rd, West Columbia, SC 29170. Burial will follow at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens, 2603 Two Notch Rd, Columbia, SC 29204.

The family will receive guests prior to the service at the church beginning at 12 o'clock.
