Robert Lewis Tilley, Jr., 55, of Blythewood, SC was called home to be with the LORD on Thursday, July 29, 2021 after battling esophageal cancer. Born on Christmas Eve in 1965, he was a son to Robert "Bob" Lewis Tilley, Sr. and Yvonne Spires Tilley.
Robert loved singing in the church choir and the men's quartet, as well as serving as a deacon. He was a sweet and gentle man who loved God and wanted to live a life that was pleasing to Him. Robert enjoyed rocketry, gaming, watching science fiction movies, and tinkering with computers and VW bugs. He loved baking items to share with others, as well as trying new recipes. Robert was loved by his family and friends, was happy to help others, and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his loving wife, Lori Annette Henry Tilley; daughters, Hannah and Rachael; parents; sister, Sarah Tilley (Mike); brothers Charles Tilley (Gwen), Mark Tilley (Lynn); along with nieces, Emma, Virginia, Mae, Joy, and Olivia; and nephews, Michael, and Luke.
A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock, Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at Sandy Level Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Hanley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 10 o'clock in the fellowship hall. Due to concerns with COVID-19 and general safety, the family requests that masks be worn and social distancing practices be observed. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
