Rodney Wayne Rabon, 58, of Columbia, died Thursday, August 19, 2021. Born Sept 30, 1962, in Columbia, SC, he is the son of Betty Shannon Rabon and the late Charles W. Rabon.
Mr. Rabon worked as a carpenter and metal fabricator. He was an amazing woodworker who especially enjoyed building furniture. Mr. Rabon was excellent in the kitchen. He loved cooking, baking, and preparing meals for all the family gatherings. He had the unique talent to repair almost anything and enjoyed tinkering on classic cars. Mr. Rabon used his talents to be of assistance to many of his family and friends throughout the years. He adored his grandson Elliot, who affectionately referred to him as "G-Pah".
Surviving in addition to his mother of Elgin is his fiancé, Jan Mosser Stewart; children, Christopher Stewart and Patrick Stewart (Kathleen King); grandson, Elliot King-Stewart; as well as his brothers, Charles Mark Rabon (Christine) and Alvin Rudolph Rabon. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Calvin Todd Rabon.
Mr. Rabon will lie in repose from 4 until 7 o'clock Saturday, August 21st at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC. Family and friends are encouraged to visit the funeral home, sign the register book, and pay their respects to Mr. Rabon.
The graveside service for Mr. Rabon will be held privately.
