Roger Ouellette

Roger Joseph Ouellette, 63, of Camden, died on Sunday, September 6, 2026. Born in Caribou, Maine, on June 2, 1963, he was a son of the late Richard and Albea Berbue Ouellette. He was a graduate of Caribou High School and went on to join the United States Army. During his distinguished military career, Roger proudly served his country, where his dedication and commitment were recognized with numerous honors and awards. Among his military distinctions were the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (4th Award), Army Good Conduct Medal (3rd Award), National Defense Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer’s Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 2, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon (3rd Award). He also earned the prestigious Expert Infantryman Badge and was recognized with the Army Lapel Button.

Roger spent his working life driving trucks, doing concrete work, and performing various automotive and truck mechanical jobs. He retired from the U.S. Department of Labor in 2019 after serving as a Mine Safety and Health Inspector. Following his retirement, he returned to concrete work and continued working until his illness.
Roger enjoyed fishing, traveling, remodeling his home, and riding his motorcycle.

Survivors include his wife, Pamela Dietrich Ouellette; his children from a previous marriage, Heather Ouellette (Brad Campbell) and Douglas Ouellette; his granddaughter, Mia Ouellette of Maine; his brother, David Ouellette (Susan) of Caribou, Maine; and his sisters, Brenda Jean of Caribou, Maine, and Paula Siddiqui (Javed) of Caribou, Maine. He is also survived by three nieces and six nephews.

The graveside service for Mr. Ouellette will be held at 12 o’clock on September 14 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
