Ronald "Ronnie" Phillip Jackson, 66, of Columbia, died on Wednesday, September 1, 2021. Born August 28, 1955, in Richland County, SC, he was a son of the late Paul Jackson and Ethel Burnett Jackson.
Ronnie loved life and lived it to the fullest. He and his wife loved to travel to the mountains and loved the beauty of just being there. Ronnie enjoyed riding his Harley and shared this enthusiasm for riding his bike with his family and friends.
Ronnie, also known as "Jackson" to many of his friends and coworkers, retired from Richland School District One after 48 years. He was a kind, caring, gentle person, who was also a loving husband, Daddy, and Pepa to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ronnie will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife, Patricia Westbrook Jackson; children, Christi Trackwell, Woodrow Bradshaw, Jr.; grandchildren, Steven Westbrook, Natalie Ellison, Kordai Ellison; greatgrandchildren, Daniel Westbrook, Jr., Copelyn Gray, Cameron Westbrook; brother, Paul Richard Jackson (Mary Lou); sisters, Carolyn Mooneyham (Ray), Glenda Mooneyham (Bobby). In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Jackson.
A funeral service will be held 2 o'clock, Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, with Pastor Rick Shealy officiating. Burial will follow at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 1 o'clock. All are invited to attend; however, the family strongly encourages those to wear masks and practice social distancing to ensure everyone's safety.
