Ronald Everett Stack, 73, Columbia, SC, passed away on October 19, 2025. Born on March 1, 1952, in Columbia, he was a son of the late Thomas Pope Stack and Hortense Rawl Stack.

Everett was an outdoorsman at heart who loved fishing, golfing, and playing in the APA Pool League, and he never missed a chance to cheer on his favorite team, the South Carolina Gamecocks. Everett was also an incredible cook who brought people together with his meals, and he was always at his happiest when surrounded by good food and family and friends. He adored his wife and never let anything, including limited mobility, keep him from going on cruises and making memories with the people he loved most. Everett also had a soft spot for animals, especially the rescue pet he cared for over the years. He'll be remembered for his warmth, humor, and the way he made everyone feel like family.

Survivors include his wife, Carole B. Stack of Columbia, SC; brother-in-law, Buck Baker (Sheilah) of Greer, SC; nephew, Bryan Kolb of Columbia, SC; nieces, Brooke Caudill (Craig) of Greer, SC, and Blair Weeks (Matt) of Greer, SC; as well as 10 great nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, his sister, Patricia S. Kolb and her husband Olivier Kolb.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 12 o'clock at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC 29223. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Killian Baptist Church Cemetery, 577 W. Killian Road, Columbia, SC 29203.
