Obituary

Ronnie Chalmers Bundrick, 74, of Columbia, journeyed into a peaceful rest Wednesday, December 7, 2022. Ronnie was born in Columbia, South Carolina, on May 3, 1948, the oldest son of the late Chalmers J. Bundrick and Audrey Thompson Bundrick.

Though Ronnie was born with numerous disabilities including spina bifida, hydrocephalus, and being crippled from the waist down, his life was filled with happiness and love. He was not predicted to live beyond infancy, but God had other plans. After several surgeries, his life was a joyful journey filled with laughter. His infectious smile lit up the rooms he entered, and his loving disposition brought peace among others. He truly brought out the best in everyone he encountered and provided church friends from Colonial Heights Baptist and the Colonial Heights community with opportunities to show God's love and compassion through loving Ronnie. God used Ronnie in a way to show others that a disability is a favored condition for His extravagant love. His life is also an example of the powerful love of family. Besides being with his family, Ronnie enjoyed cheering for the Gamecocks, the Braves and numerous other sports teams that he avidly followed on tv.

He is survived by brothers, Donald Lee Bundrick (Ann) and David Michael Bundrick (Priscilla); nieces Laura Bundrick, Carrie Bundrick Collins (Joe), and Blythe Bundrick Littlefield (Kason); great nieces and nephews, Rob, Hank, Caroline and Grace Collins, and Audrey and Madelyn Littlefield. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, Larry G. Bundrick and adopted brother Mitchell Poston (Janice).

The funeral service for Ronnie will be held at 11 o'clock at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Drive Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia, SC. Burial to follow at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens, 2603 Two Notch Road, Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10 o'clock, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to March of Dimes National Office, 1550 Crystal Dr, Suite 1300, Arlington, VA 22202.
