Rosa "Rosie" Lee Ford Ellen, 71, of Columbia, died peacefully on March 29, 2013. Born July 27, 1941 in Bamberg County, she was a daughter of the late Durant Gaskins and Margaret Summers Gaskins.

Prior to her retirement, Rosie enjoyed her time working with children. She was known for her love of family and zest for life.

Survivors include her children, Steven Ford and Alonso Cuellar, Rene' Ford, Trina and Robb Winde, all of Columbia; her sister, Mary G. Lowe of St. Matthews; grandchildren, Candace and Cameron Griggs, Laken Radvansky, and Lucas, Ryan, and Jacob Winde. In addition to her parents, Ms. Ellen was preceded in death by her brother, Henry Macklain Gaskins.

The funeral service to celebrate the life of Ms. Ellen will be private. Memorials may be made to the SC Chapter of The Alzheimer's Association, 3223 Sunset Blvd., Suite 100, West Columbia, SC 29169.
