Ruby Mae Shannon Peake, 89, of Lugoff, died Monday, February 22, 2016. Born in Columbia on July 3, 1926, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Daisy Lee Shannon. She was a member of Anchor Baptist Church and a former member of Alpine Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother and took great pride in the flowers in her yard.

Survivors include her son, Freddie L. (Linda Gale) Peake of Lugoff; a daughter, Pamela Peake Martin (Wade A. Moak) of Murrells Inlet ; grandson, Brian A. (Debra) Peake of Lugoff. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Peake; and sister, Betty Shannon Alderman.

A funeral service will be held 1 o'clock, Friday, February 26th at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext. Columbia. Interment will follow in Alpine Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 12 o'clock. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 7020 AC Skinner Pkwy, Suite 100, Jacksonville, FL 32256 or the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
