Mrs. Ruby Mars Queen, 85, of Martha Franks Baptist Community, passed away on Friday, December 17, 2021. Born in Newberry, SC, on January 29, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Thelma Longshore Mars. Ruby was the proud owner/operator of The Queen's Cupboard, her baking and catering business for many years in the Dentsville community. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren and her church membership at Dentsville Baptist Church and later North Trenholm Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Kenneth C. Queen of Blythewood, Rusty (Terri) Queen of Columbia, Tim (Kymbra) Queen of Simpsonville; son-in-law, Henry Stamper of Batesburg-Leesville; as well as grandchildren, Brittney, Kelsie, Cameron (Samantha) Queen, Bailey (George) Dickert, Mason, Cheyenne, Jayde, Kolby, Adalyne, and Connor Queen, Ashton and Kylie O'Dell, Corey (Carly) Stamper and Hailey (Richard) Wright and great grandchilderen Ryland, Arlo, Miller, and Brooks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Irvin Queen; and daughter, Susan Queen Stamper.
The funeral service for Mrs. Queen will be held at 1 o'clock, Tuesday, December 21st, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext. Columbia, SC. Burial will follow the service in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 12 o'clock.
