Faye Ruth Clinton Hinson, 71, of Columbia, died Saturday, December 17, 2016. Born May 4, 1945 in Rock Hill, she was a daughter of the late Buford Clinton and Hazel Brantley Clinton. She was a past President of the Rock Hill Jayceettes and worked with The Salvation Army and The United Way. Mrs. Hinson retired from Resource Bank Shares and was a faithful member of Windsor United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Laxton W. Hinson; sons, Steven Hinson (Kim), Jeffrey Hinson (Virginia); grandchildren, Brandon Gibson, Courtney Hood (Stancil), Brianna Hinson, Bryan Griggs, Alexandria Griggs, Christopher Griggs; great-grandchildren, Addisyn, Cameron, Brooke, and Audriana; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Tommy Clinton, Folsom Clinton, Mable Wylie, Gayle Whisonant, and Mildred Poore.

A service will be held 11 o'clock, Wednesday, December 21st, at Windsor United Methodist Church with The Rev. Stephen D. Gaither officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to Windsor United Methodist Church, 9500 Windsor Lake Blvd., Columbia, SC 29223. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
