Ruth Jacqueline Martin, 78, of Columbia, entered into rest Saturday, December 13, 2014. Born August 12, 1936, in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Ollie M. Ford Lee.

Survivors include her sons, Charles Oneill Martin, Jr., Ronald Edward Martin, Ernest Franklin (Delynn) Martin; daughters, Debra Ruth Hudson, Nezzie Ruth (Johnny) Martin, Samantha Martin, Shelby Wilson; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Lois Boyd; and brother, Ernest (Lila) Lee; along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles O. Martin, Sr.; daughter, Vivian L. Martin-Wilson; son, Dewey Martin; sisters, Sarah Martin, Nezzie Boyd, Margaret Grimsley; and a brother, Arthur Lee.

A funeral for Mrs. Martin will be held, 2 o'clock, Tuesday, December 16th, at Midway Independent Methodist Church, 8481 Old Percival Rd., Columbia. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 until 7 o'clock, at Shives Funeral Home, 5202 Colonial Dr., Columbia.
