Ruth D. Waldron, 95, of Columbia, died Thursday, July 9, 2015. Ruth was born in Queens, New York to the late Albert and Delila Sanford. She was married to the late Joseph G. Waldron for 22 years.

Ruth enjoyed serving and volunteered for the Red Cross, Moncrief Army Hospital at Fort Jackson, and as president of the military widows' society. She was like the Rock of Gibraltar for her family in the many military moves they made during Joseph's career.

Ruth is survived by her sons; Joe and Bruce Waldron, of Columbia; daughter, Barbara Dennis of Charlotte, NC; grandsons, Justin Dennis, Joseph Waldron; granddaughter, Ashley Farris; great grandchildren, Carson and Jordan Dennis, Kayleigh Farris.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded by her sister, Evelyn Sittig.

A graveside service will be held at 1 o'clock, July 20th at Florence National Cemetery, 803 E. National Cemetery Road, Florence.
