Stewart Wayne Bowen, 66, of Columbia, died Sunday, February 12, 2017. Born in Columbia on December 12, 1950, he was a son of Pauline Nates Bowen Keels and the late Norman C. Bowen. Wayne was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church and the Dentsville Masonic Lodge. He worked at Carolina Eastman for 15 years and later for himself renovating homes.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ruby Pedersen Bowen; step-sisters, Grace Bass of Blythewood, Eltis and her husband of Prosperity; step-brother, Stanford Keels, Jr. (Delores) of Elgin; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his father, Wayne was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Bowen Kelly; and a step-brother, Daniel Keels.

A service will be held 3 o'clock, Thursday, February 16th at Rehoboth United Methodist Church with The Rev. Doug Benton officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service beginning at 2 o'clock. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
