Sally Miller Railey, 89, of Columbia, died Saturday, September 8, 2012. A graveside service will be held 12 o'clock, Tuesday, September 11th, at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday evening beginning at 6 until 8 o'clock at Shives Funeral Home, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia.
Mrs. Railey was known for her care and devotion to her family, and though she previously enjoyed her employment as a quality inspector with the mill industry in Columbia, she chose to work for many years as a homemaker, caring for her loved ones through her dedicated service.
Mrs. Railey is survived by her daughter, Patty (Thomas Edward) Brazell; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; by numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved English bulldog, Butch. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Railey; daughters, Betty Hill and Nancy Bradley; sisters, Ann Lee, Louise, and Thelma; and brothers, Lourie and George. Additionally, the family would like to thank Mrs. Railey's nieces, Linda Plyler and Patricia Dunlap for their care and support.
