Sally Lucille Marsh Shirah, born April 23, 1932 in Blythewood, SC, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on her 84th birthday, Saturday, April 23, 2016. The daughter of the late Ola Mae (Entzminger) and Claudius "Jake" Albert Marsh, she lived her entire life in the Blythewood Community. She was married to the late Marion Donnie Shirah, Sr. for 49 years, having four children together. She cherished her seven grandchildren and three great-grandsons who lovingly called her "Mimmie". After working many years at Stone & Charm sewing rooms, she worked at the S&S store (formerly the B&W) in Blythewood until she retired. Lucille enjoyed talking daily with friends in her community. She was a rock for all who knew her, always ready to listen, always concerned for their well-being.

Lucille was a dedicated member of Mt. Pleasant UMC her whole life. She had a special love for her church and its congregation. Lucille loved the Lord, reading His Word daily, and is now rejoicing in His presence.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed. Lucille fought the good fight, she finished the race, and she kept the faith. She is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior and He has placed the crown of righteousness on her head.
The family wishes to send their gratitude to the staff at Palmetto Health Baptist Parkridge for the wonderful and compassionate care they gave to our "Mimmie".

She is survived by her loving children, Shirley Brazell, Betty Dennis, Dorothy Windham (Wayne), and Marion Donnie Shirah, Jr. (Jennifer); her beloved grandchildren, Susan Smith (Brian), Tara Sayles (Cory), Hunter Windham, Courtney Windham, Wendi Brazell, Justin Shirah, and Amber Shirah; and her great-grandchildren, James, Wyatt, and Grayson. She is also survived by brothers, Haskell Marsh (Glenda) and Curtis Marsh (Joyce), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her sisters, Louise Marsh Baker, Verlie Marsh Wymer, Hattie Marsh Sparrow, Ruby Marsh Burley Shropshire, Claudia Marsh Wilson; her brothers, Albert Marsh and Floyd Marsh; and her son-in-law, Henry Ray Brazell.

The service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 27th, at Mt. Pleasant UMC, 736 Campground Rd, Columbia, SC 29203. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 26th, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Rd. Exn., Columbia.
