Ms. Sandra (Sandy) Bush

Sandra (Sandy) Bush, 80, of Blythewood, SC, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, surrounded by close family and was welcomed with open arms into heaven by her Lord and Savior.

2 Timothy 4:6-7. For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.

Sandy was born December 27, 1945, in Asheville, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Oscar Havener, Jr. and Frances Lyday Havener. She is survived by her daughters, Anna L. Bush of Gaston, SC and Sherry B. Key of Elgin, SC; grandchildren, Amanda McCurry (Jeffery) of Charlotte, NC, Thomas Allen Bush of West Columbia, SC, and Ashley Kinsey of Lugoff, SC; great grandchildren, Connor McCurry and Amelia McCurry of Charlotte, NC; brother, Richard Havener of Cayce, SC as well as her nephews, Calvin Havener of Fayetteville, NC and Bryan Havener of Cayce, SC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gerald Havener.

Sandy retired from the South Carolina Department of Emergency Management. She enjoyed a prosperous career that spanned more than 20 years. She devoted her spare time as a volunteer at Lexington Medical Center.

A memorial service for Sandy will be held at 2 o’clock, Saturday, March 21st, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 1 o'clock.
