Sarah Lynn Phillips Allen, 26, of Blythewood, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, July 7, 2014. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of Katie Snelgrove Howard and the late Alan Jay Phillips. A member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church, Sarah loved teaching preschool at Trinity Childcare Center and also worked at Clarkson Optometric Center.

She is survived by her wonderful husband, Anthony Allen; her son, Jeremiah; her daughter, Katie; her mother, Katie (Cliff) Howard; sister, Hannah; step-sister, Makayla Howard; step-brother, Timothy Howard; life-long friend, Nicole Carter of Oklahoma; maternal grand-parents, The Rev. Calvin and Lucille Snelgrove; and paternal grand-mother, Patricia Phillips. In addition to her father, Sarah was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Carl Phillips; and great grandmother, Sally Moak.

The funeral service for Mrs. Allen will be held 1 o'clock, Friday, July 11th, at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 1729 Blythewood Rd, Blythewood, with The Rev. Dr. James W. Thompson III, The Rev. Calvin Snelgrove and The Rev. Seth Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock, Thursday evening, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Dr, Columbia.
