Services for Sarah Crichton Phillips, 92, of Lexington, will be held at 4 o'clock on Sunday, June 21, 2015, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC. Burial will be private. Members of Circle 1, Eau Claire Presbyterian Church, and members of The Order of The Eastern Star are invited to serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends beginning at 3 o'clock, Sunday, June 21, 2015, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel. Mrs. Phillips was born in Richmond, Virginia, on July 23, 1922, and went Home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 17, 2015. A daughter of the late Annie Hyatt Crichton and John William Crichton, she graduated with honors from Van Wyck (SC) High School and attended Spartanburg Methodist College.
She is survived by her son, John William Phillips of Lexington; her sister, Willie C. Laney; grandchildren, John W. Phillips, Jr., and his wife, Angie, of Lexington, Richard A Mixson of St. Louis, MO, and D'ettra Mixson of Rolla, MO; great grandchildren, Jackson Bryce Phillips and Lauren Hope Phillips, and Robert Mixson. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Anne Phillips Mixson; and daughter-in-law, Cathy McLean Phillips.
