They spent time engaged in missions overseas in countries such as Venezuela and Jamaica. Edward and his wife Esther later helped found the C.O.M.E. International Baptist Ministries. As a child, Timothy traveled with his parents to many of their mission fields. As a teenager Timothy graduated from Bedford Heights High School in Bedford Ohio in 1963. He attained the rank of Sergeant First Class- E7 while in the Army, and he completed five tours of duty. His tours included Vietnam, two tours in the Gulf War, Haiti, and Germany. During his tour in Vietnam, he served as a dental assistant. During the remainder of his military service, he always "cleaned the gun" in his service as a Chaplain's Assistant alongside his great comrade, Chaplain Gary Howard. Timothy and Chaplain Howard were always dedicated friends throughout life's hardest trials.

During his time in the Army Reserves, Timothy also worked as a civilian selling professional uniforms and formal wear. In 1972 he and his family moved from Ohio to Upstate New York to partner with his uncle, Herb Morrell, at Henry's Dry Cleaner in Schenectady New York.

After a medical incident in 2017, Timothy was relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina to be closer to Mia and her family.
