SGM Jeffery B. Neher, US Army, Ret., 69, of Columbia, died Saturday, September 6, 2014. Born April 9, 1945, in Mount Vernon, OH, he was the son of the late Charles Blair Neher and Bettie Neher.
A retired Sergeant Major, Mr. Neher served 30 years with the US Army. After retirement, he went on to work with Ft. Jackson's FMWR (Family Morale Welfare Recreation) for 20 years. A member of the Jackson Anglers Club, Mr. Neher played and worked hard; living life to the fullest.
Survivors include his wife, Kelly; son, Jason and his wife, Kristy; granddaughters, Kylie and Hunter; stepdaughter, Kristine; and his boxer babies, Gus and Dolly.
A graveside service for SGM Neher will be held 11 o'clock, Tuesday, September 9th, at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery. A reception will be held following the service at the NCO Club, 5700 Lee Rd., Ft.
