Obituary

Retired Sergeant Major Albert P. Hudak, Jr., 89, of Columbia, died Monday, August 21, 2017. Born in Egypt, PA, he was a son of the late Albert P. Hudock, Sr. and Anna Jandura Hudock. A veteran of the Korean War, SGM Hudak retired from the US Army following 25 years of service. After retirement from the service, he taught at the Army Education Center at Fort Jackson for 25 years. He was a wonderful husband and good father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ann Vogel Hudak; his son, Brian Hudak; grandsons, Paul Hudak and Philipp (Christina) Hudak, and their son, Parker; sister-in-law, Anna Vogel; niece, Christina Lohscheidt (Marcus) and their daughter, Ana. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

The graveside service for SGM Hudak will be held at noon on Friday, August 25th at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 11 o'clock at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia.
