The funeral service for Mrs. Johnson will be held 2:30 o'clock, Sunday, November 5th at Alpine Baptist Church, 4930 Alpine Road, Columbia, with Preacher Mark Hill officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:30 o'clock. Internment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at the family home.
Mrs. Johnson was born on January 26, 1959, in Columbia, to the late Jack E. and Adeline "Laddie" Crosby Yandle. She was a lifetime resident of Columbia and attended Spring Valley High School. She worked in Revenue Accounting at the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles. Mrs. Johnson was an active member of Alpine Baptist Church where, for many years, she taught alongside Jimmy in the "Little People's Sunday School Class."
Sharon found great joy in spending time with her family, especially her dog, Buddy, and her "granddog," Watson. She loved to share and be near those that loved and needed her most. For many years, she provided extensive care, support, and of course, meals-on-wheels to her parents, mother-in-law, aunts, uncles, and countless others. She was a loyal and hardworking servant who gave all she had to those who knew her. She would do anything for you. She was a very selfless person who always worried about others more than herself.
Memorials in lieu of flowers can be made to American Liver Foundation. We would like to express our utmost gratitude to our family physician, Dr. Brian Cline, the dedicated and caring teams with the Lexington Medical Center Intensive Care Unit, the Air Methods air medical transport, and the MUSC Medical Intensive Care Unit. A special thanks to MUSC medical student and cousin, James Infanzon, and the many other doctors, nurses, and staff who provided care for her.
