Sharon Ann Rimer, 56, of Blythewood, died Wednesday, February 10, 2016. Born on November 1, 1959, in Amarillo, Texas, she was a daughter of the late Charles R. and Dorothy B. Benton. Sharon was a graduate of Spring Valley High School, and worked for several years caring for the patients of the State Department of Mental Health. Most recently, she worked as a customer service representative with Blythewood Oil. Sharon's greatest joy, and her most important role, was being a loving mother and grandmother.
Sharon is survived by her daughter, Kristian Green (Ricky, Jr.); grandsons, Ricky Green, III, and Shaun Green; sisters, Rholon Starnes (Allen), and Jackie Britt (Mikie); brother, Corey Benton; sister-in-law, Cindy Benton; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Shaun Rimer; brother, Charles R. Benton, Jr.; and twin sister, Karen Johnson.
A memorial service for Ms. Rimer will be held at 2 o'clock, Saturday, February 13th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Rd. Exn., Columbia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service, beginning at 1 o'clock.
