Sheila Watkins Brunnemer, 78, of Lexington, died on Friday, June 28, 2024. Born in Christiansburg, VA, on March 28 1946, she was a daughter of the late Carl Luther and Mary Catherine Pearl Watkins. Mrs. Brunnemer was a loving mother and grandmother to countless relatives, extended family members included. She worked as a seamstress for many years and also as a loving homemaker.

Survivors include her son, Gary Painter, of Lexington; daughters, Tonya Reep, of Columbia, Theresa Brunnemer Rhoades, of Myrtle Beach, Sharon Brunnemer Gable, of Moorehead City, NC; grandchildren, Catherine Painter, Trevor Myers, Devin Rhoades, Brianna Rhoades, Jake Hoffman, Cameron Merek, Hannah Marek, CJ Gable; five great-grandchildren; her brother, Carl L. Watkins III; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Pamela Watkins Marvin; and her husband, Richard "Roy" Brunnemer.

The funeral service for Mrs. Brunnemer will be held at 11 o'clock, Wednesday, July 3rd, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, with Pastor Danny Wilson officiating. Burial will follow the service in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 10 o'clock.

Pallbearers will be Doug Marek, David Easler, Trevor Myers, Jake Hoffman, Bruce Anders and Larry Brazell.
