Shirley A. Mancil, 82, of Columbia, died on Saturday, February 25, 2023. Born in Greenville, SC, on July 9, 1940, she was a daughter of Lula Turner Allison. Mrs. Mancil worked for many years at Denny Terrace Elementary School and was an Avon representative. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, camping, fishing and volunteering at St. John's Methodist Church. Her Denny Terrace community was special to her and she enjoyed the fellowship with family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Jeffrey Mancil (Tammy), of Columbia, Donna M. Lord (Randy), of Pembroke, GA, Stanley Mancil, of Columbia and Steven Mancil, of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Shelly C. Young, Shelby Goodwin, William Cody Gunter, Hunner T. Mancil, Phillip Lord, Melissa Lord; great-grandchildren, Alexandria Nicole Young, Zackson Daniel Lord; as well as her brother, James Allison. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman G. Mancil; and siblings, Frances Hallman and William Allison.
The graveside service for Mrs. Mancil will be held at 11 o'clock, Wednesday, March 1st, at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 7100 Garners Ferry Rd, Columbia, SC 29209. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock, Tuesday evening at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia. Serving as pallbearers are James Allison, Randy Lord, Hunner Mancil, Sam Weathers, Kelly Bouleware and Pat Vinson, Jr.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dennis Black, dear friends who are extended family, as well as Kelly Hane of Prisma Hospice and Lena Hensley for their love and unwavering care in recent months.
