Stephen Wayne Conrad, 75, of Lexington, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on April 11, 1948, to the late Stanley Hales Conrad and Marion Langhorst Conrad. He was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served a full time mission for the church in the North British Isles from 1967 - 1969. He married his sweetheart Florrie Ruth Edwards Conrad for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple in 1971 until her passing in 2005.
He was a graduate of South High School and pursued a career as an electrician. He increased his skill set to include HVAC , appliance repair and general maintenance. In South Carolina and Utah he held a Journeyman and Master license and he devoted his time and talents serving others for 50 + years. Although strong-willed and stubborn, he would give anyone the shirt of his back. He is fondly remembered for his servant's heart and countless acts of noble service towards others. In his free time in his youth you could find him swimming, waterskiing, or on the slopes of Utah. As a family man you would find him donating his time, talents and often materials to help others in need.
Survivors include his children, Tammy Conrad Reynolds (John), Lee Andrew Conrad (Jennifer), Melody Conrad Gray (Jason), and Scott Wayne Conrad; grandchildren, Devin Theodore Reynolds, Mallery Dawn Reynolds, Laken Elizabeth Reynolds, Taryn Ruth Reynolds, Hallie Ann Reynolds, Julia Marie Conrad, Michael Ryan Conrad, Jordan Andrew Conrad, Tanner Macade Gray, Sofie Berit Gray, Emmie Leanne Gray, Darby Noelle Conrad Gray, Baylor Ruth Gray; great-grandson, Cooper John Kester; siblings, Clifton Dale Conrad (Sharon), Mary Ann Conrad Hansen (Drew), Barbara Conrad Hansen (Barry), David Stanley Conrad (Jill), and Ruth Conrad Anderson (Lee); as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Craig David Conrad; and granddaughter, Ashley Ruth Conrad.
The Funeral Service for Stephen Conrad will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, January 27th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext. Columbia, SC. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 7100 Garners Ferry Road, Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8:00 pm and Saturday morning from 10:30 until 11:30 am at the funeral home.
