Donald "Steve" Grey Parrish, Jr., 59, of Blythewood, died Monday, September 17, 2018. Steve was born in Savannah, Georgia on October 2, 1958. He served in the US Army and was the former owner and operator of BRV. Steve later worked for Patterson Fan Company and enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, being outdoors, and pulling for any team that played against the University of South Carolina.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Monica Helen Jangula Parrish; daughters, Natalie Jean Parrish, and Michele Rose Parrish; a grandson, Austin Jacob Parrish; his mom and dad, Dorothy Jeannette and Richard Jones; paternal grandmother, Irma Jones; siblings, Kenneth Ray Parrish (Nora), Donnette Moak (Norman), and Ricky Jones (Kim); as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Doris Davis and Charlie R. Mock; paternal grandfathers, William Jones and Jim Smith; as well as his favorite cat, Summer; and dog, Casey.
The service for Mr. Parrish will be held 4 o'clock, Saturday, September 22nd, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, with the Rev. James A. Goudelock officiating. Burial in Fort Jackson National Cemetery will be private. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
