Susan Dianne Davis

Susan Dianne DeBruhl Davis, of Camden, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026, at the age of 80. Though her final years were marked by illness, her spirit remained bright — warm, funny, and full of life — bringing light to all who loved her.Born on June 23, 1945, Susan was the beloved daughter of the late Susan and William DeBruhl. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arvil Davis.

Susan dedicated her life to caring for others, especially through her greatest passion, teaching. She spent many years as a devoted educator at Pine Tree Hill Elementary School in Camden SC, where she touched the lives of countless children and families. Teaching was more than a profession to her; it was truly her calling, and she poured her heart into every student she met.
Outside the classroom, Susan was known for her joyful spirit and quick wit. She was the kind of person who could make anyone laugh and feel at ease. She loved fishing and had a deep love for the beach, where some of her happiest moments were spent watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play and swim in the surf. Those memories of her beaming from the shore and poolside, cheering them on, are ones her family will carry forever.

She leaves behind her loving children, Christopher Davis, MD, and Avril Davis, NP; her cherished grandchildren, Lauren Hammer, Abigail Postich, and Lillian Treiber; and her great-grandson, Aidan Hammer.

Susan will be remembered for her kindness, her humor, her strength, and her unwavering devotion to family. The lasting impact she made on generations of students, and the love she gave so freely to those around her, will continue to live on in all who knew her.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
