Susan Redfern Gardner, 80, of Columbia, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013. Born July 29, 1932 in Anson County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Caswell Blackwell Redfern and Nannie Lou Bowman Redfern. She was a former employee of Seibels Bruce Insurance Company Claims Department and Walmart, and a member of St. James United Methodist Church. She was a widow of the late Dewey T. Gardner.

The funeral service for Mrs. Gardner will be held 2 o'clock, Saturday, June 29th, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Dr, Columbia, with The Rev. Bob Vincent and Agape Chaplain Chuck Byrd officiating. Visitation will be from 1 until 2 o'clock prior to the service. Burial will follow at 5 o'clock, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1730 Wamble Hill Rd, Chesterfield. Memorials may be made to the American Stroke Association, 7272 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75231.

Susan was grateful for her caregivers and loving friends and for the care and support she received from the staff of Heartland of Columbia, Forest Drive and the staff of Agape Hospice.
