Sybil C. Nelson, 76, of Blythewood, died, Wednesday, July 13, 2016. Born in Shelby, NC on September 2, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Reuben Howard Jones and Wilma Procter Jones. She was a member of Willow Lake Church and loved to sew and bake. Mrs. Nelson was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and never met a stranger.

Survivors include her sons, Tony Nelson (Lisa), Howard Nelson, Dennis Nelson (Ellen); six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Harry Jones; and sister, Peggy Hamrick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Nelson; two brothers; and two sisters.

A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock, Saturday, July 16th at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, with The Rev. Jeff Benson officiating. Interment will follow in Centerville Cemetery, Ridgeway. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10 o'clock.
