Mr. Tally Edward Hood, Jr., 70, of Blythewood, SC, died Friday, March 27, 2015. Born March 2, 1945, in Winnsboro, SC, he was a son of the late Tallie Edward Hood, Sr. and Corrie Fulmer Hood. Tally served with the Army National Guard, worked as a technician with BellSouth, and was a member of The Village Church and the Valley Voices. Tally loved to sing and loved everyone he met. He was a father figure to many children over the years.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Hood; sons, Robbie (Christy) Brumfield of Lexington, SC, and Paul (Alice) Downey of Lugoff, SC; sister, Edwina (Jerry) Gardner; brother, Lester (Cindy) Hood, all of Elgin, SC; grandchildren, Alissa, Brittany, Caleb, Anna and Riley; sister-in-law, Gerri Hood of Blythewood, SC; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Tally was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Elizabeth Hood; and his brother, Glenn Hood.
The funeral service for Mr. Hood will be held 3:30 o'clock, Sunday, March 29th, at The Village Church, with The Rev. Eric Estep officiating. Burial will follow at Killian Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Don Kelly, Mike Fulmer, Matt Rogers, Gene Trapp, Adam Gardner, Charles Stone, Paul Brown and Gary Collins. The family will receive friends at the church, prior to the service, beginning at 2 o'clock. Memorials may be made to the church at 574 Rimer Pond Rd, Blythewood, SC 29016. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
