Bud grew up with a love for the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, often found near the water casting his line or sharing stories of his latest catch with those he held dear. His love of nature and quiet moments in the woods is where he found peace and solace. He dedicated much of his life to the craft of auto mechanics, a career he took pride in and excelled at. For many years, he worked as a skilled mechanic where his attention to detail and strong work ethic earned him the respect of coworkers and customers alike. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand to a friend in need. A devoted fan of South Carolina football, Bud could always be found cheering on the Gamecocks, rain or shine, and his enthusiasm for the sport was contagious. He was also a die-hard NASCAR fan, never missing a race and always eager to discuss the latest standings, drivers, and races with his friends and family. Above all, he cherished his time spent with loved ones. Whether it was working on a project, enjoying a day on the water fishing, or watching a race or game together, he always made sure to prioritize family and friends. His infectious laugh, kind heart, and genuine nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his son and daughter, Scott and Amanda; stepchildren, Bobby and Christina; brothers, Tracy Nates (Carol), and Paul Nates (Angie); sisters, Hope Elders, and Lynne Medlin (Larry); daughter in law, Rachel Brown; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
