Obituary
Tammi Paige Gibson, 61, of Columbia, went to her heavenly home Tuesday, April 13, 2021. Born in Anderson, SC, on July 28, 1959, she was a daughter of the late Sturgis 'Hoot' Gibson and Sonja Hall Jones.
Tammi was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Along with spending time with family, she enjoyed her time working at Calhoun Elementary, Pontiac Elementary and Summit Parkway Middle schools in her earlier years. She also found joy working for former Lt. Governor Bob Peeler's office; former U.S. Senator Strom Thurmond's office; current U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham's office; the S.C. Budget and Control Board; and the Richland County Election's Commission.
Survivors include her daughter, Jill McLees Carpenter (Tim) of Elgin, SC; son, Jason McLees (Amanda) of Blythewood, SC; grandchildren, Colin, Erin, Jonah, Bailey, Nora Jo, Camille and Toby; Siblings, Robin Drage (Tom), Scott Gibson and Patrick Jones (all of Orlando, FL).
In accordance with her wishes a private ceremony will be done by her family at a later time and place to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital which was one of their mom's favorite charities.
