Terry Lee Harwell, 70, of West Columbia, son of Raymond D. Harwell and Betty J. Joint, lost his battle with cancer and went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. He was born on March 17, 1953, in Columbia, South Carolina. He moved to West Columbia with his wife and two children. Terry worked for Exxon Full Service Station and Harland Check Company for many years. He had a love for cars and decided to start his own business, Terry's Auto Sales in 1992. Terry was a simple man. He loved cars, motorcycles, fishing, and building things. Terry loved to laugh and tell jokes. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Debra Harwell; daughters, Christina (Oneal) Weaver, Crystal (Dorian) Melton, and Gaynell "Boo" Martin (like a daughter); grandchildren, Shelby Yelton (Cody), Rodney Fussell, Hannah Melton, and Madelynn Melton; great granddaughter, Adilynn Jane Martin; mother, Betty Joint; siblings, Richard (Sandra) Harwell, Linda Lengsas, and Kevin (Robin) Todd, many brothers and sisters in law. as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Amedisys Home Health for all of their help during this time. Especially his nurse, Jerri Fanning. They would also like to thank all the family and friends that helped them as well.
The Celebration of Life for Terry will be held at Ebenezer Pentecostal Holiness Church, 501 Church St., West Columbia, SC 29170 on Saturday, July 15th at 12 o'clock. Visitation will be at 11 o'clock prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
The family invites you to wear Harley Davidson shirts, car shirts, jeans, or whatever you are comfortable in.
