Thelma Agnes Buckner, 85, of Columbia, died Tuesday, November 11, 2014. Born January 3, 1929 in Darlington, SC, she was a daughter of the late John H. and Sadie Agnes Haley Buckner.

Ms. Buckner moved to Columbia in 1953. She worked for AM International for 25 years before joining Macy's Department Store, where she was employed for 23 years before retiring in 2006. Ms. Buckner loved gardening and was a member of Belmont Baptist Church.

Survivors include her niece, Mary Ann "Suzie" Buckner of Columbia; nephews, John (Marcia) Buckner of West Columbia, SC, James Buckner, Ralph Buckner, John Samuel "Sammy" Buckner all of Columbia, Charles (Karla) Buckner of GA, Clint (Marlaina) Buckner of Lexington, SC, and Leonard (Sherry) Buckner of NC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John, Charles, and Walter Buckner; and a sister, Juanita Buckner.

A memorial service for Ms. Buckner will be held 2 o'clock, Thursday, November 13th, at Belmont Baptist Church, with The Rev. Brenda Kneece officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to Belmont Baptist Church, 901 Mason Rd., Columbia, SC 29203.
