Mr. Thomas Jackson Boatwright, Jr., 64, of Columbia, died on Tuesday, October 29, 2013. Born June 14, 1949, in Columbia, he was a son of Frances Gibbons Whitten Boatwright and the late Thomas Jackson Boatwright, Sr.

A member of Red Bank Baptist Church, Mr. Boatwright retired from Local 421 after 40 years and then worked at South Carolina Department of Corrections for ten years in the maintenance department.

Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Doris F. Boatwright; sons, Richard Boatwright of Dearing, GA, Thomas (Ginamarie) Boatwright of North Augusta, SC; sisters, Louise Dorn, Elizabeth (David) Mills all of Pelion, SC; grandchild, Cassandra DeNio; great grandchild, Autumn Sumrow; sister-in-laws Linda F. Cash, Betty Helblig; along with numerous loved ones and extended family members.

A funeral service for Mr. Thomas Boatwright, Jr. will be held 2 o'clock, Saturday, November 2nd, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbia. The family will greet friends Friday evening at the funeral home from 5 until 7 o'clock.
