Thomas Wade Fleming, 58, of Irmo, South Carolina died Friday, March 21, 2025.
Wade was born in 1966 in Bennettsville, SC, and was the son of Thomas C. Fleming Jr. and Jan Fleming. He was a 1991 graduate of Wofford College. His law enforcement career spanned three decades and included service at the county, state, and federal levels. He had a zeal for complex investigations which made significant impacts on the community. He was a dedicated son, brother, father, and pop-pop.
Wade served as Deputy Inspector General at the SC Department of Corrections. He previously retired from the United States Secret Service with 26 years of service, having last served as Resident Agent in Charge in Wilmington, NC. Earlier in his career, he served as Special Agent with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and was a Deputy Sheriff with the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office.
He is survived by three daughters, Lauren Conley (Clif), Whitney Fleming, and Emma Fleming; a grandson, Sutton; his mother, Jan Fleming; a brother, Allen Fleming (Bettie); nephews, Ryan (Catherine) Fleming and Joshua Fleming; a great-niece, Charlotte; fiancé, Deborah Marshall and step-daughter Corrine Marshall.
Services will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, March 29 at Union United Methodist Church, 7582 Woodrow St, Irmo, SC. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Piedmont Triad, Winston-Salem, NC. Condolences may be made to Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel.
