A service to celebrate the lives of Mr. & Mrs. Thomas J. Lisek will be held at 1:30 o'clock, Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. A graveside service to include military honors for Mr. Lisek who retired on June 1, 1979 after 20 years of honorable service in the US Navy will follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 12:30 o'clock. Thomas Joseph Lisek was born on February 18, 1941 in South Bend, Indiana and died on May 8, 2011. Nancy Joan Kindig Lisek was born on April 26, 1941, in Mishawaka, Indiana and died on August 21, 2021.

The two were married on June 4, 1960 and spent 50 happy years building their family together. Tom enjoyed hiking, riding motorcycles and Geocaching. Nancy enjoyed sports, especially Chicago Cub's Baseball and Notre Dame Football. She was also a member of the Dremeze. Together, they were members of St. John Neumann Catholic Parrish in Columbia.

Survivors include their children, Joe Lisek (Lisa), of Sims, NC, Anne Paulhus (Bill), of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Christine Meiler, of Elgin, SC; grandchildren, Caroline Meiler, Andrew Ridener, Brittany Dorroh (Kevin), Samantha Lisek, and Bryanna Paulhus; great-grandchildren, Thomas, Mary, Melody and Harper; Nancy's siblings, Linda Finn (Denny) and Lynn Kinding (Sharon); brother-in-law, Richard "Lefty" LeMere; as well as many special nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to Tom's parents, Theodore Lisek, Sr., and Regina Kelly; and Nancy's parents, Henry and Mary Kindig, they were preceded in death by Tom's siblings, Theodore, Jr., David, Joan and Cynthia; and Nancy's siblings, Jack and Janet.
