Mr. Thomas Wesley Salmons III, 83, of Columbia, died on Sunday, January 1, 2023. Tom was born to the late Emily and T. Wesley Salmons, Jr. in Haverford, PA on June 16, 1939.
Thomas Salmons III graduated from Haverford High School before attending and graduating from Clemson University School of Architecture in 1969. He was an Architect for many years designing various buildings and schools in SC and around the US. He loved renovating old historic buildings and historic houses in SC and around the US. He later joined the State Dept of Education as an Architect and in that capacity also served as a Fire Marshal in school inspections. He was a member of the AIA.
He enjoyed building furniture and doing his own repairs to his home. He was a strong-willed person who loved to cook. Tom loved his family, his westies, and his friends. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Barbara Redmond Salmons; his son, Thomas W. Salmons IV (Marielle); and his sister, Janis Rodebaugh (Michael) of St. Louis, MO.
Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
