Timothy Joseph Breen, 86, of Columbia, died Tuesday, May 2, 2017. Born July 27, 1930, in Hoboken, N.J., he was the son of the late Timothy D. Breen and Concetta Coppola Breen. Mr. Breen was a U.S. Army veteran, having earned two Purple Hearts in the Korean War. He went on to a long and successful business career, overseeing warehouse and distribution operations across the country.

Survivors include his children, Patricia Breen O'Lear (Patrick) of Hilton Head Island, Dr. Robert Joseph Breen (Pamela) of Columbia, Richard Joseph Breen of Columbia, and Lt. Col. Daniel Joseph Breen (Patricia) of Sumter. He is also survived by six grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Breen was predeceased by his loving wife Helen, and son, Timothy Joseph Breen (Rosemerrie).

Mr. Breen will be laid to rest with Helen at Calverton National Cemetery, Wading River, N.Y. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
