Mr. Timothy "Timmy" Wayne Cotton, 44, of Blythewood, died on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. Born on October 19, 1980, in Columbia, SC, he was a son of Paul "Tommy" Thomas Cotton, Jr. and the late Sharon D. Cotton.

Timothy was a dedicated lifelong member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Blythewood, SC, though he also attended St. Andrews Lutheran Church. Known throughout Blythewood for his exceptional talent on the baseball field during his youth, Timothy captured the hearts of many with his athletic abilities. As he grew older, his interests expanded to include playing in the APA Pool League and golfing whenever he had the opportunity. A true Gamecock fan, Timothy's passion for watching his beloved team play sports was unmatched. Above all, he will be remembered as a loving father, a wonderful son, and a great brother. His warm spirit and kind nature touched all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife, Shannon Cotton; daughter, Haley Cotton; father, Paul "Tommy" Thomas Cotton, Jr. (Cathy); brothers, Paul Thomas Cotton, III, and William "Robby" Robert Cotton (Gina); stepsisters, Heather Anderson, and Ashley Anderson; and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.

In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul and Virginia Cotton, and William and Martha Earnhardt; and a uncle, Perry W. Earnhardt and wife Luanne Earnhardt.

A visitation will be held from 5 – 7 o'clock, Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC 29223, for family and friends to gather. The funeral service for Mr. Cotton will be held at 2 o'clock, Monday, December 9, 2024, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel. A private burial will take place at St. Mark's Lutheran Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 701 Gervais St Ste 150-195, Columbia, SC 29201, in loving memory of Mr. Timothy Wayne Cotton.
