Timothy David "Tim" Chamblee, 59, of Columbia, died Saturday, September 19, 2015. Born on March 17, 1956, in Anderson, SC, he was a son of Mrs. Marian Bratcher Chamblee and the late C.D. Chamblee. Tim was a 1978 graduate of Clemson University, and remained a Tiger fan throughout his life. He was owner and president of The John Hensel Company in Columbia. Most recently he worked in Tri Care Finance at Blue Cross-Blue Shield. Tim was an accomplished photographer as well as a master diver. Most importantly, Tim was a man of great faith who shared his time and talents as a member of Northeast United Methodist Church, and with Palmetto Animal Assisted Life Services (PAALS) of South Carolina. His loving spirit and quiet faithfulness will be missed by the family and friends he leaves behind.
Tim is survived by his wife of 35 years, Elizabeth Hensel Chamblee; son, Matthew David Chamblee of Columbia; mother, Marian Bratcher Chamblee; brothers, Mark Chamblee (Mavis) of Anderson, Cary D. Chamblee (Mary Gail); sister Jenny Renedo (Mike) of Columbia; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
A service for Mr. Chamblee will be held at 2 o'clock, Tuesday, September 22nd, at Northeast United Methodist Church, Columbia, with The Rev. David W. Day and The Rev. Gerald Watford officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
