Ursula Gerda Hunt, 92, of Columbia, died Thursday, May 24, 2018. Born on February 22, 1926, she was a daughter of the late William Gebhardt and Johanna Elizabeth Kleist. Mrs. Hunt was born and raised in Berlin Germany, where she met and married her husband, Otis Lee Hunt. She worked in accounting at Columbia Bible College for many years, where she served as a second grandmother for many students. One of Mrs. Hunt's favorite hobbies was playing cards with other residents at The Waterford of Columbia. As an active member at Capital City Baptist Church, she enjoyed always being a part of different activities.
Survivors include her son, Charles William Hunt (Jeanie); grandsons, Charles Bryan Hunt (Rachel), Bradley Scott Hunt (Brittany) and Zechariah Jones (Marie); granddaughters, Kayla Johanna Hunt, and Faith Jones; great-grandchildren, Madyson, Kylee and Charles Hunt, Ethan Medley, Olivia Boozer, David and Katalina Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sgt. Otis Lee Hunt.
The service for Mrs. Hunt will be held 2:30 o'clock, Sunday, May 27th, at Capital City Baptist Church, with Pastor Paul Monroe and Pastor Bryan Hunt officiating. Burial will follow the service in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens, 2603 Two Notch Road, Columbia. The family will receive friends at the church, prior to the service, beginning at 1:30 o'clock. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
