Vance Phillip "Pop" McLemore, 77, of Ridgeway, died Monday, July 20, 2015. Born in Columbia on January 25, 1938, he was a son of the late George Vance McLemore and Blondell Bright McLemore. Phillip retired from W.O. Blackstone and was a member Sheet Metal Workers Local #399, the Jamil Shrine Temple, the Pontiac Masonic Lodge #429, and the Colonel Creek Hunt Club. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and bowling. Phillip was an ardent fan of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks.

Survivors include his sons, Vance Phillip McLemore, Jr. of Ridgeway, Tommy McLemore (Tammie), all of Ridgeway, Jimmy McLemore (Diane) of Winnsboro; daughter, Dianne McLemore Anderson (Curtis) of Elgin; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Nadine Carter of Eastover, Barbara Ann Boatwright of West Columbia, Linda Lindler of Cayce; as well as many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Molly. In addition to his parents, Phillip was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Martin McLemore; and brother, Bobby McLemore.

The funeral service for Mr. McLemore will be held 11 o'clock, Friday, July 24th, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, with Pastor Donald Prosser officiating. Burial will follow at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock, Thursday evening, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Dr, Columbia.
