Obituary
Vernon Bruce Buchanan, 89, of Columbia, died on Sunday, January 4, 2026. Mr. Buchanan honorably served his country in the US Navy. He was formerly employed by Taylor Street Pharmacy and later retired from First Presbyterian Church. He studied karate for many years and achieved his black belt.
The graveside service for Mr. Buchanan will be held at 2 o'clock, Tuesday, January 13th at Elmwood Cemetery, 501 Elmwood Avenue Columbia, SC 29201.
Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
