Vernon Edward Livingston, 90, of West Columbia, died on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Born September 26, 1934, in Richland County, SC, he was a son of the late John Lewis Livingston and Ola Mae Ellisor Livingston. Mr. Livingston attended Columbia city schools and worked for 22 years with the South Carolina Commission for the Blind where he managed the building concession stand. He attended Fellowship Baptist Church in West Columbia.

Survivors include his sister, Evelyn Ann Williams of West Columbia, and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members. He also leaves behind his companion of 16 years, Joan "Joni" Robinson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Cecil Livingston and his sister, Margaret Derrick.

The family will receive guests from 12:30 o'clock until 1:30 o'clock Monday, November 11th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext, Columbia, SC.

The graveside service for Mr. Livingston will be held at 2 o'clock Monday, November 11th, at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 7100 Garners Ferry Road, Columbia, SC.

Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
