Mrs. Virginia Twadell Bolick, 87, of Lexington, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014. Born May 22, 1926, in Montclair, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late Henry Oakley Twaddell and Marion Allen Twaddell. During World War II, Virginia helped build airplanes for the war effort. She then went on to model in New York City in the 1940's, where she met her future husband, Robert. She was a member of Arsenal Hill Presbyterian Church in Columbia and was past president of their Women's Group.
Survivors include her sons, Robert C. Bolick III, and wife, Beth, of Evanston, IL, Stephen E. Bolick of Swansea, James H. Bolick of Lexington, Jeffrey A. Bolick and wife, Holly, of Myrtle Beach, David O. Bolick and wife, Miwa, of Chicago, IL; granddaughter, Lina O. Bolick; nieces, Susan, Virginia, Martha, Rita Gene, Nancy; and nephew, Eugene. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Bolick, Jr.; and sister, Doris Perkins.
The funeral service for Mrs. Bolick will be held 2 o'clock, Tuesday, April 15th, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Dr, Columbia. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
