Mildred Virginia Lever Lomas, 74, of Columbia, died Friday, March 10, 2017. Born in Orangeburg, SC she was the daughter of the late Odis Lever and Mildred Virginia Jeffcoat Lever and was married to the late William Lanier Lomas. A retired teacher's assistant from Joseph Keels Elementary School, she was a charter member of Fair Lawn United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Lomas is survived by her four children, Tammy Fulmer (Eddie), Terry Lomas, Tonya Lomas, and Keith Lomas (Jaime); grandchildren, Joseph Fulmer, Josh Fulmer (Brittney), Christian Lomas, Alyssa Lomas; a sister, Linda Ward; 3 sisters in law, Mary Jane Lever, Barbara Lomas, and M. L. Bishop; and a brother in law, J. B. Bishop. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Odis Lever Jr., Steve Lever, Betty Jean Ulmer Metts, and Sonny Ulmer.
A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock, Monday, March 13th at Fair Lawn United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Scott Bratton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Sunday evening at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia.
