William Tison Bowers, 62, of Columbia, died January 9, 2018. Born December 30, 1955 in Varnville, SC, he was a son of the late Grover Ford Bowers, Jr, and Macie Tison Bowers. Mr. Bowers was a 1978 graduate of the Citadel and was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He will be forever remembered as a loyal friend, always putting others before himself. Mr. Bowers was a devoted disciple and true follower of Christ.

Survivors include his loving wife, Julie Roman Bowers; sons, William Tison Bowers, Jr., and his fiancé, Beverly Hammond Duvall, and Charles Roman Bowers; siblings, Martha Bowers Simons (Paul) and Grover Ford Bowers, III (Derbi); as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

A service will be held 10 o'clock, Friday, January 12th, at First Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Derek W.H. Thomas and The Rev. David H. Lauten officiating. A graveside service will follow at 3 o'clock, at Lawtonville Cemetery, Estill, SC. The family will receive friends at the family home, 4837 Carter Hill Drive, Columbia on Thursday from 5 until 7 o'clock.
